2007: Chandler earned Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year honors from the league’s coaches. He appeared in all 12 games, making seven starts at safety.
Chandler finished the season seventh on the team in tackles with 54 stops, including 4.5 behind the line. He made first career start against Auburn, registering five tackles and one pass breakup.
Chandler recorded two tackles and one breakup against San Jose State, had another five tackles against Texas and Kansas, had three tackles and a tackle for loss at Oklahoma State, collected six tackles including one for a loss against Baylor, had five tackles against Missouri and recorded a career-high 14 stops in the finale at Fresno State.
