No. 16:
Player: Jarvis Jones
Position: Backup left tackle
The rundown: Jones transferred to OU after serving in a reserve role at LSU during its national championship run in 2007. So, he redshirted in 2008, and then he had a pretty good season a year ago before suffering a heel injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the year after the Nebraska game. All in all, he finished up playing a total of nine games on his way to earning All-Big 12 honorable mention by the Associated Press.
Expectations for 2010: At 6-foot-7, 277 lb., Jones is a gritty guy that could step into the blindside position for quarterback Landry Jones on the offensive line. Right now he’s not in a starting spot, but don’t be surprised if he sees some playing time on the line somewhere, especially since he worked at right guard and right tackle both last year.
