Player: Brandon Crow
Position: Backup fullback
The rundown: This 6-foot-1, 242 lb. senior has had an interesting career. After redshirting in 2006 and participating in four games throughout the 2007 season, Crow found himself in the MIKE position in the middle of a game after leader and defensive catalyst middle linebacker Ryan Reynolds tore his ACL against Texas in 2008. From that point, he moved to fullback behind Matt Clapp last season and played in every game on special teams. Now he sits in second on the depth chart behind another fullback, this time Marshall Musil.
Expectations for 2010: Coming out of the spring, it appears that Musil will see most of the action at the fullback position, so it seems unlikely that Crow will get any kind of large amount of action. But as a senior, he is a guy that has been within the system and knows how it works. And he has said many times he’s ready for short-yardage situations.
