OU baseball completed the three-game sweep of Kansas—None of the three were easy, but in the end all of them turned out the same, Sooner victories. OU fell behind in each of the three contests, including 3-1, 7-2 and 5-2 deficits in games one, two and three, respectively, and they came back to win all three, in large part due to clutch hitting by sophomore catcher Tyler Ogle. Because of that, the Sooners were able to surge into second place in the final Big 12 Standings, setting the stage for next week’s Big 12 Tournament. OU rides a seven-game winning streak going into contests against Kansas at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Baylor at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Kansas State at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Sooner softball advanced to the Super Regional—They did it as matter-of-factly as possible, first run-ruling Syracuse 10-0 in six innings before defeating Fordham the first time 1-0 and a second time in the regional final 2-0. Next on tap for the Sooners are the defending national champion and top ranked Washington Huskies in Seattle, Wash. The two met earlier this year during the Cathedral City Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. back in late February, and the Huskies won 7-4.
