1. OU will for sure win one of its two remaining series—Chalk it up: The Sooners will win the Bedlam series this weekend, especially after Oklahoma State handed them an extra inning loss earlier in the year in Stillwater. Then, after this weekend, OU gets a week off from Big 12 Conference play before heading to Lawrence, Kan. for a series against the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks have been inconsistent this year, so it could be a tough series, but regardless, the Sooners will win at least one of two if not both.
2. The Sooners will win all but one of its five nonconference games remaining—It’s safe to say OU could lose against the Arkansas Razorbacks when they come to Norman for a couple of reasons. First, Arkansas has been a good road team this year. Second, they are higher ranked probably for a reason, consistency. The Razorbacks have been more consistent in 2010. But don’t expect OU to choke up in a three-game set against Memphis or a midweek contest against Texas Southern.
3. OU will finish in the top four in the conference for sure—Consider that the Sooners have a game-and-a-half lead on the fifth place team in the conference, Texas A&M. Then, consider that they also have the tiebreaker on the Aggies after taking two of three a couple weekends ago in College Station. Then think about the fact that OU plays OSU and Kansas, two of the bottom five teams, while Texas A&M plays the same OSU team, but also the current second-place team, Kansas State. The Sooners own the lead as well as strength of schedule advantage, so they should be able to stay in fourth, if not make up ground on second and third, who are only one game ahead.
