The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is set for Jan. 2nd and the players are reporting for practice in Myrtle Beach over the next 24 hours and the Oklahoma Sooners will be the most represented school in the game with eight commits in action.

All eight Oklahoma commits will be playing together on the West squad and the opportunity will provide them a unique experience of playing together before arriving in Norman.

Mustang (Okla.) offensive lineman Bronson Irwin is currently ranked as one of the Top 100 players in the country by Scout.com and he was easily one of the best all-around players regardless of position at the OU Elite Prospect Camp over the summer. This game will give him the chance to show how he can do against bigger and stronger defensive linemen.

La Costa Canyon (Cali.) wide receiver Kenny Stills was one of the most impressive performers at the Scout.com Combine in Los Angeles and posted a remarkable 4.36 laser timed 40-yard dash, earning him the distinction of being one of the fastest players in the entire country. He is used to working against top defensive backs and should shine in a competitive setting.

Rockwall-Heath (Texas) center Austin Woods is one of the more natural center prospects in America and he is currently ranked as one of the best center prospects in America by Scout.com and is considered as one of the Top 300 players in the country. Like Irwin he also performed solidly at the Oklahoma summer camp.

Will DT Peterson improve his stock?
East Central (Texas) defensive tackle Torrea Peterson is not one of the more talked about names in the OU class, but he was offered by some of the most prominent schools I the country before selecting the Sooners. He will get the chance to shed his “sleeper” status and show his skills off to the nation in the O-D game.

Pflugerville (Texas) offensive tackle Tyrus Thompson was one of the first commitments towards the Sooners 2010 recruiting efforts and was considered as one of the Top 300 players in the country before slipping out of the Top 300. The Bowl Game will give him a chance to show his talent and a solid showing may force may force him to be re-ranked amongst the nation’s elite.

Cedar Hill (Texas) mammoth offensive lineman Adam Shead has played on national television before as his HS team has been featured on Fox Sports or ESPN a few times over the past two seasons, but this game will pit him against numerous elite level defensive line prospects. It will be interesting to see how he handles Peterson in West team practice sessions.

Sooner fans can probably not wait to see Scripps Ranch (Cali.) running back Brennan Clay, who is one-of-four running backs on the West roster. Like Stills, Clay was one of the top performers at the Scout.com Los Angeles Combine and has been recognized as one of the Top 150 players in the country. Clay may have a leg up on the other backs on the West team as he is also a very lethal receiver coming out of the backfield and can split out wide.

Skyline (Texas) wide receiver Joseph Powell is one of the more recent addition to the Scout.com Top 300 and his performance will indicate whether or not the right call was made, but he has been playing against the highest level of competition in Dallas and even on his own team. Some coaches believe he has been the best player on the field when Skyline lined up on Friday nights.

*Scout.com will be hand on the event and provide practice reports, scouting reports, photo galleries, and other features from the Offense-Defense Bowl, which will be televised on Fox College Sports.
