Townsend Twins Pledge OU

Posted Oct 17, 2009

The Tulsa Eagles organization is very pleased to announce that Jules & Paris Townsend have verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma softball program.

The 5”11 Sophomore twins are currently attending Tulsa Holland Hall, where they are coached by Dave Bach, the dad of former Tulsa Eagles pitcher, Hillary Bach. Despite not having any seniors, the Holland Hall Dutch went 16-0, capped by winning the Southwest Preparatory Conference Division 1 Championship last season in Dallas.

Many of Holland Hall's key players for the spring 2009 season were freshmen, including pitcher Jules Townsend, who threw three no-hitters, two perfect games and averaged 12 strikeouts per game. To add to their accomplishments for the school ball season, both Jules and Paris were named Southwest Preparatory All Conference Players. The sisters will be playing competitively for the Tulsa Eagles 16U this coming 2009/2010 fastpitch season.

After visiting several Division 1 programs, the girls said one of the reasons they chose OU is that they felt most comfortable with the OU Sooner coaching staff. The 2012 graduates will join former Eagles Gold Drew Wright in the fall of 2012.
