ARLINGTON, Texas -- At the end of the first half Sam Bradford was injured after trying to complete a pass to Trent Ratterree.

In a 7-7 game and in the middle of the two-minute drill Sam Bradford hung in the pocket to deliver a pass to get the OU offense back on track.

What he did not know is that BYU OLB Coleby Clawson was bearing down on him from his blind side. Nanoseconds after he released the ball he was buried in to the turf, suffering what has been described to us in the press box as an AC Joint Sprain.

It is not yet known how long he will be sidelined.

The AC joint is short for the acromioclavicular joint. Separation of the two bones forming this joint is caused by damage to the ligaments connecting them. It is sometimes also referred to as a shoulder separation injury.

The acromioclavicular joint is formed by the outer end of the clavicle (collar bone) and the acromion process of the scapular (shoulder blade). The acromion is a bony process which protudes forwards from the upper part of the scapular. This joint forms the highest part of the shoulder.

** Stay tuned as Sooners Illustarted will have more on the injury following the game.
