Recruiting coverage at SoonersIllustrated continues as we bring fans the latest in Oklahoma recruiting news. Today, we spoke with Oklahoma athlete Julian Wilson from Southmoore High School. Check out what's new in this SI update.

Every year there is an athlete somewhere who will not be denied. And for the moment, that is Southmoore (OK) athlete Julian Wilson. It's no secret that the 6-foot-2, 179-pound Wilson has wanted an offer from the hometown program, Oklahoma for some time..

Well, it just so happens that the call came Sooner rather than later.

"After the camp Sunday, coach (Bobby Jack) Wright told me to come see him. I assumed that he was talking about sometime during the week," Wilson said. "It's a funny thing, but apparently the coaches have been trying to get in touch with me and I have been in Florida all week. But this morning at about 10 a.m., I got the call from coach Wright."

So what was the verdict?

"Coach Wright told me that an offer was on its way in the mail from Oklahoma," Wilson said. "He (Wright) was telling my coach all week that he needed to talk with me. The are offering me as a cornerback or safety position."

The Sooners join Stanford, Rice, Air Force, Arizona, Kansas, SMU, Colorado, Louisville, Tulsa, Missouri, and Nebraska in the running for landing Wilson.

"It feels so good to finally get the offer," Wilson said. I put in the hard work and got the Oklahoma offer. But I still have more work to go with my senior year ahead of me."
