OU completes its exhibition slate against Oklahoma Christian Tuesday, Nov. 11,
at 7 p.m., before hosting UC-Riverside in the opening round of the Preseason
WNIT Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. Both games are at the Lloyd Noble Center.
NOTES:
Oklahoma’s No. 4 preseason ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 matches its
second best start ... The Sooners were also No. 4 to begin the 2001-02 season
when they finished as national runners-up … Senior

MEN'S
BASKETBALL
LAST WEEK: The Sooners posted 90-43 and 94-39 respective
exhibition wins over Oklahoma
Panhandle State and Cameron on Wednesday and Saturday. OU shot a
combined .522 from the field and posted a 46.5-26.0 rebounding advantage over
its opponents while holding them to .313 shooting. Sophomore preseason
All-American
Blake Griffin led the Sooners in scoring in both contests with 22 and
17 points. He averaged 19.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 blocks
in 25.5 minutes a game. Freshman Willie Warren averaged 15.0 points, 3.5
assists and 2.5 steals in 23.0 minutes an outing while sophomore
Cade Davis averaged 13.0 points in 19.0 minutes.
THIS WEEK:
Jeff Capel begins his third season as OU
head coach when his
Sooners host American on Friday at 7 p.m. American is the defending Patriot
League champion and participated in last year's
NCAA Tournament. It was
also picked No. 1 in this year's Patriot League preseason poll.
NOTES: Blake Griffin was a perfect 16-for-16 from the field
in OU's two exhibition victories last week ... Cade Davis was 4-for-7 from
3-point range in each of the Sooners' two exhibition wins (.571) ... The
Sooners went 17-for-52 (.327) from the new extended 3-point line (20' 9") ...
OU registered 18 blocked shots in its two exhibition wins while its opponents
recorded one.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
LAST WEEK: The Sooners concluded their 2008 fall season
Sunday at the San Diego State
University Fall Classic II. Senior Brittany Baldy advanced to the
Singles Flight C Championship
but was defeated by Sierra Ellison of
SDSU. Two Sooner
newcomers, Kristina Radan and Peta Maree Lancaster, advanced to the Doubles
Flight B Championship but fell to Sujica and Kevey of San Diego. Another OU
pair, Marie Huet and Maria Kalashnikova, captured the Doubles Flight A
Consolation title after defeating Xu and Ardies from the University of
Washington; 8-5.
NOTES: Senior Brittany Baldy advanced to her first career
championship match Sunday. This was also the first time any Sooner advanced to
play in a singles championship match in the 2008 fall season.

VOLLEYBALL
LAST WEEK:
Oklahoma fell to 15th-ranked Kansas State Wednesday evening, 3-1,
and to Missouri on Sunday, 3-0.
THIS WEEK: Oklahoma hosts Kansas Wednesday at 7 p.m., before
an open date this weekend.
NOTES: Junior Bridget Laplante recorded her seventh
double-double of the season against the Wildcats and freshman Brianne Barker
had her 13th and 14th double-doubles of the year.
PROMOTIONS: The Sooners host Faculty and Staff Night
Wednesday and the first 250 fans in attendance receive an OU volleyball mouse
pad.
