OU-Nebraska to Play at Night

Press Release
Posted Oct 20, 2008

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma and Nebraska will play their Nov. 1 football game in Norman at 7 p.m. It won't be known for a few more days yet which network will televise the contest.

The game will be aired on either ABC or ESPN, but that decision won't be made by network executives until the results of this week's games are known. Regardless of which network is selected, the game will be shown to the entire nation.

Oklahoma has been under the lights frequently this season. Home games with Tennessee-Chattanooga and TCU were night games, and a road tilt at Washington began in the late afternoon and was played mostly after sundown.

This will mark the third time in the last four meetings that Oklahoma and Nebraska have played at night. The 2004 game in Norman and the 2006 Big 12 Championship Game at Kansas City were both played under the lights.

This year's OU-NU game will include festivities to recognize the 1971 Game of the Century played between the two schools. Both schools will be represented by players and coaches who participated in that game.
