Last Week: The
University of Oklahoma's
women's cross country team finished 10th out of 29 teams
Saturday morning at the
Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla., as sophomore Kelly Waters took eighth to
lead the squad. Waters completed the 6,000-meter course in a time of 21
minutes and 28 seconds. On the season, Waters has yet to finish outside the
top 10.

WOMEN'S GOLF
This week:
Carol Ludvigson’s
Sooners compete on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 6-7, at the Windy City
Collegiate Championships in Skokie, Ill. The 54-hole tournament will be
played at the 6,350-yard, par-72 Evanston Golf Course and hosted by
Northwestern University.
Twelve other squads will compete in the event, including five top-50 teams and
Big 12 schools Iowa State and Texas. Thirty-six holes will be played on
Monday, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Live scoring is available at

Notes: Senior Kendall Dye, sophomores Ellen Mueller and Sara
Hemingway, and freshman Brooke Collins return to action from a season-opening
11th-place finish at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate two
weeks ago … Junior Chelsey Collins will make her season debut this week … Dye
led the Sooners at the Ron Moore with a 19th-place finish (her 13th
career top-20 finish) while Brooke Collins finished 24th in her
collegiate debut.

ROWING
Last Week: The OU women's rowing team competed in its first
ever rowing competition, the Head of the Oklahoma, hosted by
Oklahoma City University
last
weekend. The regatta was held in downtown Oklahoma City at the
Oklahoma River in
Bricktown. The Sooners placed ninth in the W4+ Open, 11th in the women's
single scull competition and 13th in the W2 Open.
This Week: The
team will compete in its next event on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Head of the
Colorado in Austin, Texas.
Notes: OU
entered the W4+ Open on Saturday, finishing ninth out of 32 entries with a
time of 17:07 ... The team consisted of Meagan Harrell, Teddi Dwyer, Chelsea
Moore, Michael Owen and Bronwyn Tawney ... Big 12 competitor Texas finished
sixth while Kansas was
10th ... Concluding the competition on Sunday afternoon, the Sooners W2 Open
team of Teddi Dwyer and Chelsea Moore finished 13th while
Megan Duffy finished
11th in the women's single scull competition.

OU Soccer
Last Week: The Sooners (1-11, 0-3 Big 12) dropped both
games over the weekend after falling 2-0 at home on Friday to Oregon and 5-0
on the road Sunday at No. 7 Texas A&M.
This Week:
Oklahoma returns to action this weekend to host Missouri in its Big 12 home
opener on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. The Sooners conclude the weekend home
stand on Sunday against Kansas at 1 p.m.
Notes:
OU
has seven games remaining on the season, including five at the OU Soccer
Complex.
Promotions: Friday: First 500 fans receive a free OU pom pom
and the Sooners will sign autographs following the game. Sunday: Sooner Kids

MEN'S TENNIS
Last Week: Three Sooners participated in the ITA All-American
pre-qualifying rounds. The trio of Ionut Beleleu, George Chanturia and Blake
Boswell finished with a 4-2 record. Beleleu was able to remain undefeated in
fall singles play and advance to the qualifying round by going 3-0.
This Week: Three Sooners will see action this week as the ITA
All-American continues. No. 122 Sergey Avdeyev and Ionut Beleleu will start in
the qualifying singles round and No. 22 rated Andrei Daescu will begin
qualifying doubles play with Beleleu. Daescu has already qualified to
participate in the main draw.

Last Week: Sophomore Ana-Maria
Constantinescu was eliminated in the qualifying round of the 2008 Riviera/ITA
All-American
Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Constantinescu fell to Megan
Alexander, ranked No. 70 nationally, from Florida 6-2,6-0 in the first singles
draw. Constantinescu then faced No. 71 Maria Sanchez in the consolation draw
and was defeated, 7-5, 6-2.
This Week: The Sooners head to Evanston, Ill., to compete in
the Wildcat Invitational, October 10-12. The tournament is held at
Northwestern University,
where OU head coach Dave Mullins previously coached and won the 2008 ITA
National Assistant Coach of the
Year.
Notes: Constantinescu was the first Sooner to be invited to
the ITA All-American Tournament since Gabby Baker competed in the tournament
in 2006.
