Swanson Earns First Offer

Travis Swanson

The wait is over for Kingwood offensive lineman Travis Swanson as he has pulled down his first official scholarship offer, and it is a big one. He is fresh off of a camp performance at Oklahoma and Scout.com caught up with him for the latest on both fronts.

Travis Swanson, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound offensive lineman from Kingwood High was pumped to inform Scout.com that he had pulled down his first official scholarship offer.

"You told me to call you when I got an offer, and I just wanted to call you and let you know that I picked up my first offer from Kansas," Swanson informed.

It is not that often that you go from having zero offers to having one from the Orange Bowl Champions, so it is easy to see why Swanson is living on cloud nine right now.

"It is really exciting. I am so pumped up about it right now. Kansas is a great school and they are a really good program."

Swanson, who is rated as the 24th best guard in the nation by Scout.com, is fresh off of a camp performance at Oklahoma.

"It went really good," Swanson said. "I think I had a good performance. I went to the three day padded camp."

"Coach Patton told me that they were interested and he would like to take a look at my first two games of the season next year before making a decision on an offer."

Swanson will attend a number of other summer camps this summer like Texas Tech and Arkansas.

He earned Scout.com All-Combine honors after a successful performance at the Under Armour/Scout.com Combine in Dallas.
