The question has been posed as to what receivers the Oklahoma coaching staff will look for to round out their 2009 recruiting efforts, and a new name has arisen on the radar when Minnesota top talent Bryce McNeal indicated that he had received and offer from the Sooners. Despite the offer McNeal still says he is closing in on a decision. Clemson and Michigan appear to be the front-runners. | |||

Minneapolis Breck WR Bryce McNeal has been a hot prospect over the past few months. Continuously drawing new offers, McNeal upped his offer list even more in recent weeks as a couple of the nation’s top programs came through with scholarship offers. The list is growing for Bryce McNeal. He now is up to 16 offers and a couple of the recent ones have been from traditional colleve football powers. “Oklahoma recently offered,” he reported, “Illinois recently offered, West Virginia came in the mix but haven’t offered and I got offers from Clemson and Auburn. Oklahoma offered today, they came yesterday. Illinois came and visited late last week.” In addition to those schools, a number of schools have stopped by Minneapolis Breck recently to check in on the four star wideout. Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa State, Colorado and Mississippi have all been through. McNeal has reported recently that Clemson and Michigan are at the top of his list and not surprisingly, they are the first two programs he mentioned when it comes to summer travel plans. “I’m going to Clemson for sure and I’m going down to Michigan for the barbecue (May 17),” McNeal said, “I might go to some 1-day camps, but I’m not sure as of right now.” This next trip to Ann Arbor will be McNeal’s second, but he says this time will be different because his mom will be able to come along. The recent recruiting attention and big time offers have not gone to his head though. “It’s all just a blessing, I don’t take any credit, I give the credit to God. He’s walking me through, helping me make the decision on where I need to be. I’m just taking the process and staying humble with it.” As for when that process may end, it may be sooner rather than later. “I think I’m getting close actually.” |
