Oklahoma signee Willie Warren proved why he is considered one of the best guards in the country Wednesday when he poured in 23 points to lead all scorers at the McDonald's All-American Game.

A glimpse of Oklahoma’s future was on display Wednesday night – and a beautiful sight it was.

Oklahoma signee Willie Warren scored a game-high 23 points for the West squad in the McDonald’s All-American High School Game at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Warren scored his points in just 22 minutes, but it wasn’t enough for the West to overcome the East in a 107-102 loss. Warren also added two assists and three steals.

The 6-foot-4 guard scored 10 straight points for the West during a 10-2 run that allowed the West to cut its deficit to 82-80 with nine minutes to play.

Warren, who was 11-of-17 from the field, was the only player in the game who has signed with a Big 12 school.

Warren was named the 2008 Gatorade Texas Boys' Basketball Player of the Year after averaging 24.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.4 steals per game for the North Crowley Panthers in Ft. Worth, Texas. He led his squad to a 38-1 record and finished with 27 points and eight assists in a 73-67 Class 5A state title game victory over Fort Bend Dulles on March 8.

A five-star recruit, Warren is rated as the No. 6 shooting guard in the country by Scout.com.

Warren has also been selected to participate in the Jordan Brand All-American Classic, to be played April 19 at 8 p.m. CDT inside New York City's Madison Square Garden (televised by ESPN2).
