It wasn't a must-win game, but they're all critical at this point in the season. That said, the Sooners did themselves no favor on Wednesday night when they were blown out at Nebraska. A poor first half and inconsistent shooting all night never allowed the Sooners to get untracked.

The road was unkind to Oklahoma a second straight game.

A disastrous first half Wednesday saw the Sooners score just 12 points. They never recovered in stumbling to a 63-45 loss at Nebraska in Big 12 Conference play.

The point total tied a season low for the Sooners, matching their output last Saturday in a loss to Texas.

This second consecutive loss drops Oklahoma to 18-10 overall and 6-7 in conference play. The two-game skid comes after the Sooners won three straight.

Oklahoma shot just 26 percent and committed eight turnovers in the first half as Nebraska built a 29-12 lead. OU made just two field goals in the final 12 minutes of the half, allowing Nebraska a 20-4 run.

Nebraska’s (17-9, 6-7) lead grew to as many as 23 in the second half. Oklahoma started the half with a 6-2 run, but the Huskers answered with a 13-4 run to build a 44-22 lead at 11:23.

Oklahoma finished the game shooting 37 percent. The Huskers shot 50 percent. They were led by Steve Harley’s 17 points. Aleks Maric added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Blake Griffin paced the Sooners with 17 points and eight boards. Tony Crocker chipped in 11 while Cade Davis added 10.

The Sooners return home Saturday for a crucial contest with Texas A&M. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.
