The Big XII season is nearing its end, upping the ante for every game. Oklahoma, on the NCAA Tournament bubble, could use a road win Wednesday when it travels to Nebraska. See what Nebraska has waiting on the Sooners.

With four games remaining on the regular-season schedule, the importance of each is magnified for the Oklahoma men’s basketball team.

That holds true for tonight when the Sooners (18-9 overall, 6-6 Big XII) travel to Nebraska (16-9, 5-7) for a 7 p.m. tipoff. As of Monday, the Sooners were in a fourth-place tie in the conference and still very much on the bubble for a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA

Nebraska started 0-4 in league play, but has since gone 5-3. The Huskers are 14-3 at home, including 3-3 in the conference.

They are coming off two wins over ranked opponents, beating then-No. 24 Kansas State 71-64 last Wednesday in Lincoln, then shocking then-No. 22 Texas A&M 65-59 in College Station on Saturday.

The Huskers lead the league in scoring defense (60.3), but is near the bottom at 10th in scoring offense (67.9).

Offensively, center Aleks Maric leads the team with averages of 15.9 points and 9.8 rebounds. He also averages a team-high 1.8 blocks. He leads the Big XII in field-goal percentage (.560).

Sophomore guard Ryan Anderson averages 9.3 points and 5.7 boards. Junior guards Steve Harley and Ade Dagunduro each contribute 8.4 points and combine for over six boards.

Oklahoma leads the overall series against Nebraska, 103-80 and has won eight of the last 10 and 11 of the last 15. Though Nebraska is 45-37 against OU in Lincoln, the Sooners have won three of the last four there.

Wednesday’s game will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KRXO 107.7-FM in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430-AM in Tulsa; Sirius 143) with Bob Barry Sr. and Mike Houck announcing. The game will not be televised.
