Oklahoma hosts Texas tonight in the hardwood version of the Red River Rivalry. Although Oklahoma owns a sizeable lead in the series, Texas has won the last three. Can Oklahoma reverse the trend? Better yet, will they have their full arsenal in trying to do so?

Oklahoma attempts to get back in the win column Wednesday night when it plays host to Texas in a Big XII Conference men’s basketball game.

The teams will square off in the hardwood version of the Red River Rivalry at 6 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center. Tickets are still available through the OU Athletics Ticket Office.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Ron Franklin and Fran Fraschilla calling the action. It can be heard on KRXO FM-107.7 in Oklahoma City, KMOD-97.5 in Tulsa and Sirius Channel 107. Bob Barry Sr. and Mike Houck will announce.

Oklahoma (15-6, 3-3) is coming off a 60-52 loss last Saturday at Texas A&M. No. 12 Texas (17-4, 4-2) won 80-72 over Baylor on Saturday.

Texas features two of the conference’s best guards in D.J. Augustine and A.J. Abrams.

Augustine, a sophomore point guard, pours in 19.9 points an outing, ranking him second in the league. He leads the conference with 5.9 assists. Abrams averages 17.3 points, good for third in the conference, and 3.0 treys a contest, good for first.

Sophomore forward Damion James, a former Sooner commitment, is second in the league with 10.5 rebounds a game. He adds 13.4 points. Forward Connor Athchley adds 10.7 points, 4.7 boards and a team-high 1.8 blocks.

Oklahoma could be short-handed in the contest. At the very best, center Longar Longar is questionable as he attempts to heal a stress fracture in his leg. Longar is averaging 13.2 points and 5.9 rebounds for a frontcourt that’s already short-handed.

The Sooners own a 45-24 record against Texas, including a 21-8 mark in games played in Norman. Texas has won the last three meetings.
