To borrow an expression from Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, the Sooner defense "played in a great way" Saturday night in shutting down Missouri to win the Big XII championship.

Oklahoma won its second consecutive Big XII championship Saturday night with a 38-17 win over No. 1 Missouri at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Sooner quarterback Sam Bradford threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns to out-duel Heisman Trophy hopeful Chase Daniel of Missouri.

Oklahoma, which earned an automatic berth in the Fiesta Bowl, outscored Missouri 24-3 in the second half.
