Ellenwood, Ga., product Josh Jarboe recently picked up another written scholarship offer from North Carolina, putting him around 20 total offers according to the offensive threat and we caught up with him recently to find out which schools may be in the lead, or simply sticking out from the rest of the pack at this point in his mind.

Cedar Grove High School wide receiver Josh Jarboe was a versatile weapon last year, catching 48 passes for 947 yards and 10 touchdowns, rushing for 437 more yards and adding two touchdowns rushing and one as a return man. With offers in hand from programs like Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Ohio State and Tennessee, among others, we asked just where the Sooners stood in his recruiting queue.

“Oklahoma is definitely in the running with all of the other schools that have offered me right now,” Jarboe stated. “In fact, Oklahoma is one of the schools I think I will take an official visit to this year along with Florida and LSU. I haven’t figured out the other two schools yet, but I’ll figure all that out over the summer.”

Jarboe made the trip from Ellenwood, Ga., to Norman back in June for camp and showed off his skills for the Oklahoma coaching staff. He was able to see some of the campus during the visit, however he did not see much of the facilities as the trip was more business then pleasure. We talked to the wide out to see what his thoughts were on Oklahoma and how he did at camp.

“I thought I did really well out there at camp, especially in the one-on-one drills that they had going,” Jarboe explained. “They were running us in press coverage and I love when corners come up and press me, so I showed them that I had the moves to get off the jam and create separation. I guess I like when people press me because it just makes me play that much harder and since I use my hands well and can be physical I think it makes it easier for me to go against.”

“When I was on campus at Oklahoma the staff asked me if I was genuinely interested and I told them I definitely was,” Jarboe added. “The coaching staff in general was great and they were all laid back just like my recruiting coordinator is, who also happens to be great friends with one of my coaches. I always liked Oklahoma coming up, the coaches said I would have a good chance to play early and I like their offense because it is really a 50-50 ratio of run and pass. They’ve put plenty of receivers into the NFL in the higher rounds lately and I want to play for a team that is a national championship contender. Distance is not a factor to me at this point, I’m going to do what is best for me. The coaching staff has been in contact with me pretty consistently since then and just want to get me back on campus for a game so I can see the atmosphere, so like I said, I do plan to take an official visit to Oklahoma some time this season.”

As a junior at Cedar Grove High School, Jarboe caught 48 passes for 947 yards and 10 touchdowns on his way to being named first-team All-County and All-State at wide receiver. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete also added 437 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
