The Matchup
Oklahoma will be looking to stay in the hunt for their second straight Big 12 regular season title Saturday in Lubbock against Texas Tech.

The Sooners come into the game in a four-way tie for first place in the conference race with Baylor, Nebraska and Texas A&M, while the Lady Raiders are fighting to get off the NCAA bubble as they currently sit in sixth place at 6-6.

Oklahoma won the first meeting, 86-81, in double overtime in Norman on January 23. Courtney Paris led the way with 22 points and 17 rebounds, and Kendra Moore sparked the Sooners scoring 13 of her 20 points in the overtime sessions.

The Lady Raiders are 3-3 at home this year in Big 12 play, while the Sooners are 4-2 on the road in conference action. However, OU has lost two straight on the road. Their last road win came against Colorado on Jan. 20.

Tech leads the all-time series 21-13 overall and 12-4 in Lubbock.

Sherri Coale on Texas Tech
"They're playing really well right now. Really well. I think they reeled a little bit when they lost Chesley Dabbs, and I think rightly so because she was a big part of what they did, particularly against us. She had that mid-range jumper which made them so hard to defend.

"But it looks like they've found their balance after that. They had five guys in double figures (in Wednesday's 70-69 win at Nebraska) with everybody making some three's. And their big kid (Patrice Edlwards) just keeps getting better. She was real effective against Courtney here with the long stretch that she has. She is 6-6, so we'll have to do some things differently to try to free Courtney up and get her away from that.

"I went back and watched the film (of the first game against Tech) and we didn't play very well defensively. We didn't dictate what they did and Courtney was rushing (on offense). She's played so much better the last three games than she was playing. That was kind of the middle of her funk or whatever she was in when she wasn't playing quite like we all knew she could play. She was only getting 20 and 15 instead of 28 and 18 (laughs).

"She was just in a hurry, almost panicky, like I've got to score threw this kid. She had been seeing all the fronts. Everybody had been playing her in front and Tech played behind. When she caught and turned around there was a 6-6 player with these long arms and she made some bad decisions. I think, since that time, she's been more effective. So I expect a different sort of game. I know her numbers were good against Tech, but I expect a different sort of productivity from Courtney.
