Sidell Corley wants to take some more visits before making a late decision. He says he still is…
Recruiting: Alabama DE visits Norman
JH: How did you like your visit to Oklahoma this weekend?
SC: "It went well. They are big family up there. The coaches and the players are a big family. My visit to Oklahoma was as great experience for me."
JH: What did you learn about Oklahoma that you didn't know before you visited?
SC: "I didn't know they put that many players in the NFL, especially that many d-linemen in the NFL. I really didn't know what to expect when I went up there." JH: What caught your eye about the campus, facilities and just the people on campus or in Norman?
SC: "Everybody was gone on Christmas Break, so only athletes were up there. The team is a big family. A big example is what Pryce (Macon) told me. He told me that he wasn't going to be one of those players who didn't want you to come here because we play the same position. He was like, 'I want you to come here and play because we rotate and we need defensive ends.' So the players and coaches were all straight-up and they just treated me like I was on the team."
JH: How did that kind of treatment make you feel?
SC: "The big thing I look for when I go to colleges are the players on the team, the players that I am coming in with and will I get some early playing time. All three of those questions got answered for me. I bonded with some of the players who are already committed there, and I bonded with the guys already on the team. Then there is a great opportunity for a defensive end to come in there and get some playing time."
JH: What did you tell Oklahoma about your status before you left?
SC: "I just told them that I will be considering them from this point and that they are high on my list."
JH: Now that you have taken a visit to OU, what is your situation in recruiting?
SC: "OU was my first official visit, so I want to take all my other official visits and I will see from there.
JH: What other visits do you have scheduled?
SC: "I can't remember the dates, but I am going to Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and my last visit will be to Florida."
JH: Coming into your visit to OU you were committed to Florida. Are you still committed to Florida?
SC: "Yes sir."
JH: So you are a soft commitment to Florida now?
SC: "I am not saying that, I am just saying that I committed to Florida so early that I did not give teams like Oklahoma a chance at all. This is the first team that I have actually taken an official visit to. I am just making sure that there is not a better school out there for me. I will just say that Oklahoma has a chance to sign me, but I am still committed to Florida."
JH: Did you go to Florida unofficially?
SC: "Yes, back in the spring."
