For just the third time in school history, the Oklahoma baseball will host a regional in Norman.

The Sooners have hosted regionals several other times at the old All Sports Stadium and Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, but next weekend will mark the first time a regional will be played at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman since 1997.

The Norman regional will start Friday and run through Sunday with the an 'if necesarry' game scheduled for Monday. The complete matchups and three teams that will join Oklahoma in Norman will be announced Monday.

Game times are set for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The if necessary game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday.

Should the Sooners win next weekend's double-elimination, four-team regional, they would advance to a super regional where they would play best-of-three series against the winner of whichever regional is grouped with them in their bracket. Again, the regional pairings and brackets will be announed at 11:30 a.m. Monday on ESPN.

Tickets went on sale at 5 p.m. Sunday on SoonerSports.com. All fans attending the regional will need to purchase a ticket, and that includes fans who sit outside of the stadium on the hill in the outfield.

Fans can also purchase tickets from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the OU Athletic Ticket Office on the West side of the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Football stadium. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 800-456-4668.

Texas and Nebraska joined the Sooners as the only Big 12 schools to host a regional. Oklahoma State will not host a regional in Stillwater.
