Brandon Caleb, WR, 6-1, 195, FORK UNION, VIRGINIA: JH: Earlier in the week you told me that you really liked Oklahoma and when you felt comfortable you would announce your decision. I guess last night was the night? BC: “Basically, I knew in my heart that Oklahoma was for me and that I fit in there. Then I talked to Coach Wyatt, my parents and then my coach from Fork Union, and I just knew it was the right decision.” JH: Are you glad recruiting is over for you? BC: “Yes, sir.” JH: Is Oklahoma going to be the only official visit that you take this year? BC: “Yes, sir.” JH: What was it about Oklahoma that grabbed your attention? BC: “Their winning tradition, and their academic staff with Mrs. Teresa (Turner) is incredible. They stress academics at OU and they are trying to get players degrees.” JH: We saw you at the Scout Combine in San Antonio and you are a great athlete who can play on either side of the ball. We have always listed you as a wide receiver, but is that where you want to play? BC: “Yes, that has been the position that I played last year. That is what I want to play in college, but many people have been recruiting me on defense. That's not what I want, I want to make big plays on the offensive side of the ball.” JH: You seem to have a great relationship with Coach Darrell Wyatt? BC: “We clicked from the start when we talked over the phone when I used to call from school. When I showed up on campus he let me hang out with the receivers and do what they do. He made me feel like I was already part of the team. I just knew he was a great coach.” JH: What kind of year do you expect to have? And how good is your team this year? BC: “I expect to have a good year this year. I just want us to win a championship. I don’t want anybody to look at me as a team, I just want us to be good as a team. I think we are going to be real strong this year. We are trying to get that ring and that state championship this year.” |
