RECRUITING: OU makes final two for WR after visit Premium Story

Posted Aug 9, 2005

Fork Union, Va. wide receiver Brandon Caleb update.

Brandon Caleb, WR, 6-1, 195, 4.45, FORK UNION, VIRGINIA:

JH: How did your unofficial visit go to OU this weekend?

BC: “I thought it was an awesome visit. I got to spend a lot of time with Coach (Darrell) Wyatt and we got to talk to OU Head Coach (Bob) Stoops one-on-one. I liked everything about the visit. I got a chance to spend a lot of time around practice with some players, and I got to see first-hand what makes OU such a special program.”

JH: What did you think of practice?

BC: “Practice was intense because they do a whole bunch of skill work for the receivers with Coach Wyatt, which I like. They always have some great competition with the DBs and the guys were out there working hard.”

JH: What did you think of Bob Stoops?

BC: “He is a real genuine guy. We talked about school and academics, which he pointed out is very important at Oklahoma. He said he wanted all of his players to get degrees. He said that OU is very competitive on the field and in the classroom, and that getting degrees was one of the most important aspects of the football team.”

JH: I know you have talked to Coach Wyatt a bunch, but you had a couple of days to hang out with him. What do you think of him now?

BC: “Coach Wyatt is a good guy who is always available for me. He is a great guy and I really enjoy talking to him. What impressed me was that he had a whole bunch of tapes in his office on wide receiver drills and technique drills. He also has tapes that show how guys can improve to get the NFL, and he has NFL technique tapes that can really help a receiver.”

JH: Now that you have visited Norman what are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

BC: “It is a great school. I can see myself going there. I still have to look over all my school stuff this summer. Then I have to pray about it and make sure that I make the right decision.”

JH: What are your thoughts on recruiting at this time?

BC: “It is probably down to OU and Georgia Tech. I have already been to Georgia Tech.”

JH: What are your thoughts on Georgia Tech?

BC: “They have a great school. I was talking to Coach Bubby Gies and he is a great guy.”

JH: When do you think you will make your decision?

BC: “I am the type where I will make my decision when I am ready to make it. I will just put everything down on a table and then look things over. When I feel comfortable with my decision then I will make it.”

JH: Did your visit to OU enhance the Sooners chances to sign you?

BC: “Yes, sir. I was always interested in OU, but when I went there they had a nice campu, it was better than expected. I like Georgia Tech as well. Both are right up there.”
