RECRUITING: LSU OL commit checks out Norman

Klein, Texas offensive lineman Matt Allen talks about his unofficial visit to Oklahoma.

Matt Allen, OL, 6'3, 292, 5.2, KLEIN (COLLINS HS), TEXAS:

JH: How was your unofficial visit to Norman this weekend?

MA: "It was good. We have been planning on going down there for a little while now and we took an unofficial visit to see what they had to offer. So, that was what it was all about. We had a very nice trip."

JH: What did you learn that OU had to offer?

MA: "They have a great tradition of winning, which is good. I really like Coach Stoops, who is a real nice guy and down to earth. The offensive line coach (Kevin Wilson) is a real nice guy and down to earth. We also got to meet a lot of coaches, and they are great guys. All in all, it was a pretty good trip."

JH: What about the nuts and bolts of the football program? Did anything impress you there?

MA: "The tradition and winning tradition that they have really impressed me. They have great facilities and a nice training room that impressed me. They have a nice school as I really enjoyed the campus. What impressed me the most was their winning tradition and the great tradition that they have.

JH: What does your visit to OU do to your current situation in recruiting?

MA: "Well, I am committed to LSU and I am consider that I am committed to LSU. Right now that is where I want to go, but I am keeping my options open to make sure that I am making the right decision. I am still going to talk to Oklahoma, but I am still committed to LSU, and that is where right now that I plan on going. I still might visit Oklahoma (officially). I just want to keep my options open just in case."

JH: Does OU's depth at OL appeal to you at all?

MA: "That was very appealing to me. They are graduating five guys on the line and that would be a good situation for a young O-lineman like me. They have a similiar situation at LSU, but that does give me something to think about."

JH: You have Michael Goodson in your backfield, that has to be pretty fun?

MA: "He is pretty quick. It is a privledge blocking for him."
