RECRUITING: Virginia receiver to visit Norman?

Virginia Beach, Va. wide receiver Damon McDaniel reveals his childhood favorite, top 8-10 schools and interest in Oklahoma.

Damon McDaniel, WR, 6'0, 195, 4.4, VIRGINIA BEACH (LANDSTOWN HS), VIRGINIA:

JH: What are you doing this summer? Are you going to any camps?

DM: "I am not going to any individual camps this summer, but I will go to a team camp at UVA. I am going to be in two passing leagues this summer, a summer basketball league, and I am going to lift weights all summer. I am going to be plenty busy."

JH: Did you see any spring games or take any unofficial visits?

DM: "I didn't get out as much as I wanted to. I did take an unofficial visit to Miami, but that was it."

JH: How many offers do you have now?

DM: "I would say I have close to 30 offers."

JH: Do you have a favorite or a top five?

DM: "I have narrowed it down to a top 8-10. I like Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, Miami and LSU. I have always been a Miami Hurricane fan since the eighth grade and I am still a Miami Hurricane fan. I don't know if that is going to give them much of an advantage or not, maybe just a little, but it is not what I am going to make my decision over."

JH: Oklahoma has offered you, so what are your thoughts on the Sooners?

DM: "I need to get down there and learn more about Oklahoma. I know they are a great program and they are always winning, and I know they have a great coaching staff. I respect Bob Stoops and the Oklahoma coaches. I need to just find out more about how they live and what it is like in Norman, Okla.

"I am not sure who I am going to visit, but there is a good possibility that I will visit Oklahoma. I am still trying to work out those decisions. I have a lot of tough decisions to make."
