Snow Junior College DE C.J. AhYou says he knew early on during his visit that he wanted to be a Sooner.
C.J. AhYou
, DE, 6-4, 262, 4.6, SNOW JUNIOR COLLEGE, UTAH:
JH: You committed to OU Saturday evening, so you didn’t waste any time did you?
CJ: “I just came up and enjoyed the school. I just enjoyed the school, coaches and members of the team so much. I was so overwhelmed by all the memorabilia that they had and all the great victories that they had won. They win so many championships, so who wouldn’t want to go play for championships?”
JH: You must have known right away that you wanted to play for OU?
CJ: “I met with Coach Stoops after that Saturday night practice because we were going to come back early Sunday morning. So, I met with him that night and I told him that I wanted to commit. He seemed excited about it and we were all excited about it.”
JH: Will you be enrolling at OU next semester?
CJ: “I will be enrolling in January.”
JH: You are jumping right into the fray at OU as they will begin off-season workouts in February?
CJ: “I am really looking forward to working out with Coach Schmidt. Well, to be honest I don’t know how excited I am because I understand his program is really hard. But after talking to him yesterday I realize that he can really help me.”
JH: You have had two knee operations, so how are the knees? Do you wear braces on the field?
CJ: “My knees are fine, but I wear braces out of habit. It is better to be safe than sorry. Actually, I run pretty well in the braces. They don’t bother me at all.”
JH: OU graduates two outstanding defensive ends, so the opportunity is there isn’t it to come in and play right away?
CJ: “The opportunity is there, but it is up to me to take advantage of it. I have to go in and win the job, but the opportunity is there to win some playing time.”
JH: What does your family think about your commitment to OU?
CJ: “Yeah, they are all excited.”
