RECRUITING: Stoops visits Louisiana safety

Alexandria, Louisiana safety Nic Harris update.

Nic Harris, S/ATH, 6-3, 210, 4.7, ALEXANDRIA (SENIOR HS), LOUISIANA:

JH: You met with OU coaches in your home on Sunday Night. How did that go?

NH: "That visit went real well. I had a chance to talk to Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach (Bobby Jack) Wright, and it was real cool. He just let me know how much he wanted me. He was coming off the Big 12 Championship game and one of his first stops was to see me. That showed me right there how much he wanted me."

JH: Does the fact that OU just won the Big 12 Championship and are playing for the National Championship for the third time in the last five years have any effect on your decision?

NH: "That is a great attribute for them. That is what they worked for and they have accomplished what they worked for. It is important to a certain extent because if that team is losing then they are reloading. The only thing that I am concerned with is consistency, because next year OU could have a down year. But if they are consistent they will bounce back. I am looking for consistency in a program and OU fits that category."

JH: How did your visit go to LSU?

NH: "It went well. I had a great visit and I enjoyed my stay incredibly well."

JH: Since you live in Louisiana I assume you knew quite a bit about LSU. What do you learn about LSU that you didn't already know?

NH: "Well, it is not true that just because I play high school football in Louisiana that I know a lot about LSU. I don't know as much as you think. I learned more about their team chemistry. That was what was shaky with me going into the visit and I wanted to be comfortable with he coaches. I wanted people to be honest with me and they certainly were about their program."

JH: Are you done taking visits?

NH: "No, I am going to Nebraska this weekend."

JH: When do you hope to make a decision?

NH: "Whenever I feel the time is right."

JH: How does recruiting shake out with your at this time?

NH: "Everybody is still playing on an even playing field. After I take my last visit I am going to sit down and write out my pros and cons."
