RECRUITING: A&M commit looking at Oklahoma?

JODIE RICHARDSON, LB, 6-2, 210, 4.5, DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS:

Linebackers have to be some of the most athletic players on the field and, in Richardson’s case, that is true. Jodie Richardson, a two-year starter at both inside linebacker and outside linebacker, is blessed with tremendous athletic ability.

“I like playing inside better because I like to bang around inside,” said Richardson. “I think I play better in traffic.”

Duncanville is 3-1 on the season losing to Coppell 14-13.

“That was a tough loss for us, but that is just going to make us better,” said Richardson. “We could have won that game, but they just made more plays than us.”

Richardson has 40 tackles thus far with two interceptions, returning one for a 95-yead touchdown. Throw in five sacks and Richardson is having a very good year.

“I can always do better, but I am having an OK year,” said Richardson. “I have been OK through four games. I look forward to the rest of the season.”

Richardson can bench 315 pounds, squats 500 he has a 33-inch vertical jump. Richardson committed early to Texas A&M and despite efforts from other colleges across the country he is still committed to the Aggies.

“I am still committed to Texas A&M, but I am talking to other coaches,” said Richardson. “I have talked to coaches from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but I am still committed to Texas A&M. Anything can happen from now to signing day. I don’t know if I am going to take a visit to Oklahoma or Oklahoma State. My recruiting coach from Texas A&M doesn’t want me to take other visits and I really don’t want to do anything to make them mad, so I probably won’t.

" I really like Oklahoma. and I just talked to Coach (Brent) Venables on Sunday. I have always liked Oklahoma. Oklahoma has offered me and if they had offered me earlier I might have committed to them. Now, I just don’t know what to think."
