Bellflower, Calif. tight end Edward Dickson talks about his game and interest in Oklahoma.
EDWARD DICKSON, TE, 6’5, 226, 4.6, BELLFLOWER, CALIFORNIA:
You have to love players that don’t start out high on the radar, but after his film gets around he starts to get a ton of play and then falls into the national top ten. Well, that is exactly what has happened with
Edward Dickson
.
Dickson goes into this season as a three-year starter at Bell Flowers High. Last year he put together a super year coming up with 95 tackles at defensive end while averaging 26 yards per catch and scored seven touchdowns at tight end.
“I like playing on offense better, because I like to score,” said Dickson. “I like to play defense, but more colleges are recruiting to play me at tight end.”
Dickson can bench 315 pounds, squats 455 and he has a 32-inch vertical jump. Dickson also starts in hoops averaging 21.7 point per game and that earned him All-CF first team in both football and basketball.
Dickson went to the USC junior day camp and was rated the best tight end at the camp. Dickson has been offered by more schools than he can count, and he says it is difficult to narrow his choices down.
“I am pretty wide open right now,” said Dickson. “This is a real big decision for me. I don’t really watch college football that much, so I am learning about some of these teams for the first time.
"
Oklahoma
is one of my favorite teams. I heard they use the tight ends in their offense to pass the ball to a lot. I hear they have a great football program and that they have a good business school. Again, I am still learning about a number of these colleges, but I also like
Michigan
and
USC
. I think those three schools stick out.”
Dickson says he is going to try to set up some visits in early October. Dickson has qualified academically.
