RECRUITING: Sooners moving up Texas OL's list

Richardson, Texas OL Colin Tucker talks about his trip to Norman for the Red/White game.

Colin Tucker, OL, 6-4, 230, 5.41 Richardson, Texas (Pearch HS):

JH: Since the last time we talked what has developed in recruiting?

CT: "I went up to Norman to watch the Red/White game. It was an amazing experience for me. I got a chance to talk to Coach (Kevin) Wilson who would be my position coach and to Coach (Brent) Venables who is my recruiting coach. We hit it off very well and I had a great time."

JH: What did you learn about Oklahoma on your unofficial visit?

CT: "I got to see all the facilities and they are top notch. I also got a chance to watch an offensive line meeting and I thought that was pretty cool. I had a chance to just talk to Coach Wilson and I found out that he is a very positive guy and he is very easy to talk to. They are returning a number of starters off of last year's team, which is pretty amazing when you consider they played for the national championship last year.

"They had a number of players sit down with us and answer our questions with no coaches around. It was great to hear what Dusty Dovoreck and Jason White had to say about the program with no pressure on them to see something that is not on their mind."

JH: Didn't you also go to Arkansas on an unofficial visit?

CT: "I also went to Arkansas a couple of weeks before I went to Oklahoma."

JH: Early you seemed a solid lean to Arkansas, is that still the cast now?

CT: "I have ten offers and things are getting more open for me. I didn't even know that Oklahoma was that interested in me. If it came down to Oklahoma and Arkansas for me that would be a tough choice. I am not dead set on Arkansas any more, but I still like them. Things are a lot more open for me."

JH: What other schools besides Oklahoma and Arkansas are you interested in?

CT: "Oklahoma State has shown a lot of interest. Coach Les Miles came to my school and talked to me. I will consider all the schools that offer me. I have to weigh the quality of education with the football program because I realize that football won't last with me forever."

JH: What camps do you hope to participate in?

CT: "I am going to the Arkansas and Oklahoma football camps. I am still trying to decide on a third camp. I may go to Notre Dame. Right now I am not sure where I am going to go for my third camp."
