Sanchez, Striker among OU honorees

OU cornerback Zack Sanchez

There was plenty of OU to be found as the All-Big 12 preseason team selected by the media was released Wednesday.

The only question was how many members of the Oklahoma team would make the All-Big 12 preseason team as selected by the media members of the conference.

The answer turned out to be four as OU offensive tackle Daryl Williams, kicker Michael Hunnicutt, linebacker Eric Striker and defensive back Zack Sanchez all made the cut, the conference announced Wednesday morning.

Baylor led the conference with seven selections, followed by Kansas State with five although Tyler Lockett made the list twice as a wide receiver and kick returner.

Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty was selected as Offensive Player of the Year with TCU’s Devonte Fields earning the honor on defense. Oklahoma State’s Tyreek Hill was tabbed as Newcomer of the Year.
