The book has been closed on the Class of 2014 and now it's time to look ahead toward the Class of 2015 in the state of Oklahoma.
Currently with four recruits in the Scout 300, the state has a lot of on the cusp recruits that will be able to make an impact in the months to come.
SoonersIllustrated.com is counting down the top 25 this week.
No. 10 Clinton running back Marquiz Simpkins (5-9, 185)
Simpkins junior season wasn't as great as his sophomore as he had to deal with some nagging injuries. All that being said, Simpkins was still able to rush for 1,399 yards on 128 carries with 14 touchdowns. Has a Tulsa offer and a lot of Big 12 schools are showing consistent interest.
No. 9 Lawton defensive back Darreyl Patterson (6-0, 165)
The cat is out of the bag with Patterson, who recently was at Oklahoma's junior day and received an offer from Tulsa. He rushed for 488 yards and five touchdowns, but he makes his biggest impact on defense with 65 tackles and three interceptions last season.
No.8 Tulsa Edison wide receiver Akylen Mayfield (6-2, 190)
Might be the biggest wild card in the class. Watching Mayfield and you know you're seeing something special. At Tulsa Edison he is really having to carry the load at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, defensive back, kick returner. Early interest from schools has Mayfield being targeted as a receiver.
No. 7 Moore Southmoore defensive tackle Bobby Henry (6-4, 250)
Following his sophomore season, Henry was all the rage for the class and many thought he could wind up being the top-ranked prospect. That hasn't happened just yet. An injury-plagued junior season slowed him down considerably, but he's healthy now. His combo of size and speed is scary for his position.
No. 6 Moore Westmoore wide receiver Dahu Green (6-3, 185)
Nobody knew who Green was heading into his junior season. All anybody really knew was he moved to Moore from California. Now we know just how good he really is. Came up big in the biggest games for the Jaguars and finished the season with 40 catches for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. The spring and summer should see him pick up a lot more interest, and it's starting with offers from Louisville and Tulsa in last 10 days.
