Hilliard Transfers To A&M
"Yes, I am transferring to Texas A&M," Hilliard said. "I have to register for classes tomorrow but I worked it out with Coach Sumlin. I'll be at A&M."
The Klein (TX) native indicated that he felt he needed a better fit, and transferring to Texas A&M gets him closer to home. Hilliard played special teams his freshman year, registering one tackle in 11 games for the Horned Frogs.
As a senior at Klein Oak HS, Hilliard was a second-team all-state selection and third-team All-American as well as first-team all-district and the district's defensive most valuable player. He recorded 143 tackles, including 110 solo, with three sacks and two forced fumbles as a senior. He totaled 101 stops and four sacks as well as two interceptions and a fumble recovery his junior year.
After sitting out the 2013 season due to transfer rules, Hilliard will have three years to play three years.
