They’re ranked highest in Sports Illustrated’s Jan. 8 projections, which have them heading west to face seventh-seeded Michigan State as a No. 10 seed.
Similar predictions come out of the ESPN and CBS Sports projections.
OU is expected to be an 11 seed facing No. 6 Wichita State in the East Regional, according to ESPN’s Jan. 8 projections.
CBS Sports has them the lowest of all three with a trip out east in the 12-5 game against Ohio State, but that is the oldest of the major publications dating back to Dec. 27.
The Sooners have raced out to a 10-3 start, including a 1-0 start in conference play but a pair of wins over Big 12 foe West Virginia.
They’ve won three straight since their last loss against Stephen F. Austin Dec. 18.
After having a week off, OU gets back to action when it takes on Bedlam rival Oklahoma State in a huge early season conference battle Saturday at 2 p.m.
