OSU MVP: QB Clint Chelf
A flawless performance by Chelf, through three quarters, against an underwhelming Purdue defense: 17-22, 197 yards and 3 touchdowns.

PURDUE MVP: RB Akeem Shavers
A sad ending to a great career. The senior went down with an injury late in the game, but was still able to put up some respectable numbers: 14 carries, 93 yards.

QUOTABLE:
Purdue Interim Head Coach Patrick Higgins(at halftime): "We're just beating ourselves right now."

OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy: "We ended up in a bowl game that some people thought we should not have been in, but our team didn't approach it that way. They prepared well over the past three weeks. Our coaches did a really nice job. So for that reason, they deserved to play well. Their effort today was terrific.

"I do want to congratulate Purdue – a tough situation they're in without having a head coach. They handled themselves with class all week.

"We have a large group of players that are coming back. It could be our best group overall, when you talk about 70 players, that we've had in a number of years."
