Arizona OL enjoys time in Los Angeles

OL Natrell Curtis

Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe junior offensive lineman Natrell Curtis made the road trip to Los Angeles over the weekend to watch UCLA host USC at the Rose Bowl.

Natrell Curtis will be one of the top offensive line recruits out West next year and holds early scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah and Vanderbilt. The weekend visit to the Rose Bowl was the first for Curtis and he said he had a great time.

"I really loved the atmosphere there, the fans were crazy," Curtis said. "That was a great game and I loved seeing them beat USC. That's a big win for their program and I had a lot of fun being there and taking it all in. I came up with Kenny Lacy, who's committed to UCLA so I was rooting for them for sure.

"I had a chance to talk with Coach Klemm, the OL coach before the game and we get along great. UCLA hasn't offered yet but told me they're really interested and they just want to make sure they have evaluated not just me but all the offensive lineman in my class before they put offers out and I understand that."

Curtis said although this was his first UCLA game, he has been to the Southern California area plenty of times.

"My grandpa lives in Rancho Cucamonga and I've spent a lot of time there," Curtis said. "I'm very comfortable with the area and I plan to go back and visit the UCLA campus soon since I just went to the game at the Rose Bowl.

"Right now I don't have any plans to visit anywhere else, I'm just going to take the recruiting process pretty slow and see what happens. UCLA is definitely high on my list though and I think I would fit in pretty well there for sure."
