It seemed like a defensive set that allowed him to just roam the field and make plays. And in the 37-21 win over rival Cy Ridge, Houston (TX) Langham Creek defensive back Jeremy Land was doing just that.
"I was rolled down to play the run some. They have a good running back in Rennie Childs I was trying to stop him," Land said. "It was good game overall. It was the defensive line, linebackers and the secondary. We all contributed in the win."
For the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Land, that's just what he does, which is make plays. Most of the time during this game Land was rolled up to play tighter as Cy Ridge features a dual-threat quarterback to go along with top back Childs.
This level of play has yielded him some Division I looks from a number of programs. Right now he sits with a lone offer, but hopes that will change in the near future.
"I have one offer from New Mexico State and that's it right now. I'm on a few recruiting boards at LSU, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, but I haven't gotten an offer from any of them," Land said.
Land said that most of the schools are looking at him for the safety or cornerback position.
