Monday press conference central: week 10

OU head coach Bob Stoops

NORMAN, Okla. — Head coach Bob Stoops took the podium to address last weekend's loss to Notre Dame and preview this week.

First, here are a few notes from the presser.

  • Defensive tackle Marquis Anderson is suspended and that's why he hasn't been suiting out: "Just hadn't dressed out, but at this point he's just under a suspension."
  • Offensive tackle Lane Johnson and running back Damien Williams both have suffered ankle injuries and will miss practice tonight, Stoops said: "Yeah, both those are ankle injuries, and we'll see. When I know, I'll say something. To this point they're gonna miss today's practice, but we're hoping they'll be back by Wednesday. So, I'll update everybody on Wednesday where we're at."
  • Kickoff specialist Patrick O'Hara is nearing a return: "He's getting closer. I don't know exactly where, but Michael's been kicking it fine. He's had good hang time and I mean our cover unit's been really good."
  • Defensive tackle Stacy McGee, in his return, was pretty solid, Stoops said: "Stacy played well. As you would expect, he just needs more game time to keep making some progress, and he will. But when he was in there, he did a good job."
