Hanna becomes sixth Sooner selected

Former OU tight end James Hanna

The Sooners may not have had a first round selection, but they've been all over the draft boards since, the latest of which is tight end James Hanna, picked by the Dallas Cowboys with the 16th pick in the sixth round, 186th overall.

Hanna, who was an All-Big 12 second team selection by both the AP and coaches, set career bests in receptions (27) and yards (381) in a season last year.

He averaged 14.1 yards per reception and caught a pair of touchdowns.

The 6-foot-4, 252-pounder had at least one reception in every game with eight multiple-catch outings.

Additionally, he matched a career-high with four receptions in OU's dramatic 41-38 loss at Baylor.

Hanna's career defining moment came back during the 2010 season when he caught a 76-yard touchdown pass to seal up the Bedlam game against Oklahoma State, and he also hauled in his career-high four catches that night.
