Oklahoma Commits: Week 4 Schedule

Sooners Illustrated brings you our weekly report showing you where each Sooner commitment will be taking the field that weekend. Check inside for more.

John Michael McGee (Texas HS) – Texas High suffered a big loss at the hands on Bentonville High last Friday night 36-0. McGee and his teammates currently sit at 2-2 on the year and have their first district game of the season tonight when they travel to play Royse City at 7:30.

Ty Darlington (Apopka HS) – Apopka was able to ‘harness their chi' last weekend on their bye week after starting the season off on the wrong foot at 0-2. The Blue Darters look to get in the win column for the first time this season tonight when they travel to play Olympia.

Alex Ross (Jenks HS) – Jenks got back to business last week defeating Owasso 49-27. Ross finished the game with 14-carries for 83-yards and two-touchdowns as well as one-catch for 14-yards. Through two games Ross has 29-carries for 216-yards and three-touchdowns. Jenks currently sits at 2-1 this season and will host Shawnee later tonight.

Durron Neal (DeSmet Jesuit HS) – DeSmet improved their record to 3-1 after defeating Vianney last week 34-7. Through four games this season Neal has three-catches for 89-yards and two-touchdowns as well as eleven-carries for 51-yards and two-touchdowns. Tonight DeSmet hosts Chaminade at 7.

Trevor Knight (Reagan HS) – Knight led Reagan to their third victory of the season last week defeating Alamo Heights 21-17. Knight had eleven-completions out of 22-attempts for 158-yards and two-touchdowns, both going to his brother Connor, who will walk on at OU. Knight also had eight-carries for 55-yards. Through four games Knight has 45-completions out of 83-attempts for 628-yards and seven-touchdowns with no interceptions. On the ground Knight has 45-carries for 209-yards and two-touchdowns. Reagan is currently 4-0 and will travel to play Churchill in their first district game of the season tonight at 7:30.

Sterling Shepard (Heritage Hall) – Heritage Hall moved to 3-0 on the season last Friday beating Davis 29-13. Shepard had a busy night rushing four 60-yards on four-carries along with six-catches for 156-yards and one-touchdown. On defense Shepard had 11-total tackles. For the season Shepard now has 13-catches for 321-yards with four-touchdowns and six-receptions for 76-yards. Shepard also has 18-tackles on the year so far. Tonight Heritage Hall host Oklahoma Centennial in their first district game as well at 7:30.

De'Vante Harris (Mesquite Horn HS) – Horn fell to 1-3 on the year after losing another close game, this time to Denton Guyer 31-23 last Friday. Harris had seven-tackles and also blocked a field goal on the night. Tonight Horn plays another tough non-district opponent, the Stephenville Yellowjackets at 7:30.

Charles Tapper (Baltimore City College) – City College lost their first game of the season last week to Dunbar, 18-6. Now sitting at 1-1 on the year and in district play, City College will travel to take on Carver Vo-Tech today at 3:45.

Polo Manukainiu (Trinity HS) – Trinity duplicated what they did two weeks ago this past weekend to Irving winning 64-0 for the second week in a row improving their record to 4-0. Manukainiu was able to suit up for the first time last week and will play tonight in a big district game when the Trojans take on Colleyville Heritage at 7:30. Sooners Illustrated will be on hand to see how Manukainiu performs coming off a knee injury.

Kyle Marrs (Brandeis HS) – Brandeis moved to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in district play last week when they beat Stevens 13-0. Tonight Marrs and his teammates will face another district for, Clark, at 7:30.

Laith Harlow (Godby HS) – So far this season Godby has been taking care of business moving to 3-0 on the season last week after they defeated Jefferson County 42-6. On the season Harlow leads the team with seven-pancake blocks. Godby gets a chance to rest up on their bye week this week.

Daniel Brooks (Calhoun HS) – Despite Brooks nursing an ankle injury the last couple of game Calhoun has remained dominant and moved to 4-0 last week after defeating Cuero 35-0. Brooks will be back in the lineup tonight when Calhoun takes on Rockport-Fulton at 7:30.

Eric Striker (Armwood HS) – Armwood dominated Tampa Bay Tech last week 40-7 and now sit at 3-0 on the season going into district play. Striker had a big game last week with 13-tackles, four-for loss, and one-sack. Armwood hosts Leto later tonight.

Trey Metoyer (Hargrave Military) – After defeating Covenant last week 32-14, Hargrave is now 1-1 on the season. Tonight they travel to play Nelson County at 7.
