Signing as a Sooner: No. 4

OU linebacker signee P.L. Lindley

NORMAN, Okla. -- The first hour was absolutely loaded and another player that made it that way was linebacker P.L. Lindley, a talent from Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas.

Signing Time: 7:30 a.m.

Scout.com Ranking: Three-star

P.L. Lindley (OLB-6'2"/205): One of the most impressive parts of Lindley's game is his ability to drop back into coverage and excel. That is a huge must, especially with the prevalence of the spread offense in the Big 12. He's quick and combines that with great speed and athleticism. Like wide receiver Kameel Jackson, Lindley is another guy that has been committed for awhile, as he gave a verbal to OU back on Feb. 20, 2010.

What he's coming into at the position: There's not a whole lot of weak spots on this team, especially not on the defensive side of the football and definitely not at the linebacker position. The corps consists of Travis Lewis, Austin Box and Tom Wort, all players that have valuable experience, most notably the first two. But even so, Lindley could push into sometime playing time since he is such a good player coming out of high school.
